As other people who have commented, I’m unsure about some answers and I got very different results each time I tried the test. from easily burns to tans gradually Deep: bronze, rich brown, mahogany, dark brown with golden, neutral or blue undertone ~ FS V-VI. tans easily, usually doesn't burn Deep: beige, ivory, olive, light brown with golden, neutral or rosy undertone ~ FS II-III. from burns easily to to tans gradually Clear: bronze, warm brown, cool brown with neutral or rosy undertone ~ FS IV-V. tans easily Clear: milky white, fair, porcelain, ivory with rosy, peachy or neutral undertone ~ FS I-III. from easily burns to tans gradually Cool: medium brown, olive, dark brown, black with grayish or blue undertone ~ FS IV-VI. rarely burns, tans easily Cool: porcelain, beige, fair with a rosy undertone ~ FS II-III. sometimes burns, tans gradually Soft: light brown, medium tan, caramel, olive with neutral undertone ~ FS IV-V. sometimes burns, tans gradually or easily Soft: neutral beige, ivory, may have freckles and neutral undertone ~ FS II-III. burns easily or usually, has difficulty tanning Warm: golden medium, caramel, light brown with golden undertone ~ FS III-IV. burns easily, doesn't tan Warm: golden ivory, fair or beige usually with freckles and peachy, golden undertone ~ FS.
I do get it to work though, and the results are amazing so far.Light: fair or porcelain with a peachy or rosy undertone ~ FS I. I'm sure I'll figure it out soon and it will all be a habit. This caused the Palette 2 to cancel the print and eject its filament. And I screwed up another time and I can't remember what happened but I remember the MK3S prompting me for something. Another time it was because I extruded too much in Step 7. Sometimes it's because the filament I used in Step 3 was too short so when I extruded I ran out and MK3S detected no filament. Manually extrude using Octoprint until I see a colour changeįor some reason, I've screwed this up a few times.Grab the filament that has now been produced by the Palette 2, stick into the extruder.Load piece into MK3S and manually extrude 4-10cm using Octoprint.Cut off a piece of filament that is different from Palette 2 print's first colour.Run unload filament on MK3S to remove the little bit of leftover from last print.It seems like I have to do this after a palette 2 print, before starting a new print: I find this whole process annoying and for some reason stressful. Everything looks good, except it does seem the MK3S took a bit more of that first color then it was supposed to, probably because auto-load extrudes quite a bit more filament than just "so that the filament is gripped by your extruder's gears." Anyways, wondering if anyone else did the same thing as me.
After a bit of auto-extrusion, I heard some noise, pretty sure it was the gears on the Palette 2 or the MK3S slipping. So I ignored what it said about "Use the Extrude function" and just shoved the filament into my MK3S. Use the Extrude function again so that the filament is gripped by your extruder's gears." So, yes Palette had created some filament, and I there was a good chunk of it hanging out from the end of the Palette's Bowden tube. I assume I'm supposed to disable filament auto-loading in that case? The instructions were specifically "Palette will now have created enough filament to load into your printer's extruder. So as part of loading filament I'm supposed to use Canvas/Octoprint to manually load 5mm of filament.
